Mosquito Control

Hey neighbors,

We’ve been dealing with an ongoing mosquito issue and have been working with the city to get it handled. They’ve come out and checked the area, but won’t move forward with mosquito control (spraying and traps) until we get breeding under control on our end.

Mosquitoes are already bad and it’s not even peak season yet, so it’s only going to get worse if we don’t act now.

Biggest issues are standing water and overgrown yards, especially in shaded areas and homes closer to the water. Even small items holding water can create breeding spots.

Please take a few minutes to:

• Dump any standing water

• Clear gutters and containers

• Keep grass and landscaping trimmed

If we all do our part, the city can move forward with treating the neighborhood.

If you don’t have the necessary equipment to keep your yard trimmed, a neighbor may be able to assist while you figure out a more permanent solution.  Reach out if you would like to get in touch with someone who may be able to help mow.

RAIN DELAY: Annual Community Yard Sale Moved to May 9

Due to the weather forecast for tomorrow, the Shea Terrace Civic League is officially activating the rain date for our Annual Community Yard Sale. The event will now take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

We want to ensure a dry and successful day for all our neighbors to de-clutter and find new treasures. While the official neighborhood event is moving, please note the following:

  • Host at Your Own Risk: You are still welcome to host an individual yard sale tomorrow, May 2nd, if you choose; however, please be aware you do so at your own weather risk.
  • Official Maps: The Shea Terrace Civic League will not be handing out the official event maps tomorrow. Maps will be distributed on the new date of May 9th to ensure all participating homes are represented during the rescheduled event.

We look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday for a great day in the neighborhood!
